Ms. Barrett's Classroom
My name is Vanessa Barrett and I am 26 years old. I've lived in Gillespie all my life and I come from a large family. I have a twin sister as well as two other sisters and two brothers. My older sisters are teachers also.
I went to Saint Simon and Jude Catholic School from grades 1-8 in Gillespie. I really enjoy the atmosphere of a smaller Catholic school. It brings back a lot of great memories.
I am a graduate of Illinois College where I majored in elementary education with a concentration in social studies.
This is my first year teaching and I am enjoying it very much! For fun, I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music, shopping, and being active outside. The kids are great here and I am looking forward to the rest of the year!!
