See attached flyer for details.

Kathy Spudich spoke on the upcoming Cardinal season. She had to commit to doing it for next season, so she did. The song will be God Bless America.  Games requested were spring games on Saturday April 28th, or Saturday May 12th. She also requested a lower section that could raise ticket prices by $5-$10 per ticket. She will not know if we got our request dates until sometime in January. ·         New Math Curriculum was brought up by Carla Moore. Sheri Mc Bride brought up the subject that public school kids can earn high school credits due to their curriculum. Carla Moore had stated in the past they said it was not offered to parochial schools, but since the person in charge has changed and she would check into it again, and also see what Math Curriculum they are using. Also noted by Kathy Spudich was that the Algebra taught at our school was not as advanced/thorough as the public school.

·         Michelle Russell questioned if anyone was looking into the online grade and assignment access for parents. Carla Moore stated they were still looking into it and cost.

Beth Sievers discussed the cookie bake fundraiser. The need for extra chocolate chips and flour was passed on to the school parents. Any help available on Friday for baking will be appreciated. Carla Moore volunteered her kids to help ice and decorate cookies. There were 276 dozen cookies sold.

Disney Holly Jolly Breakfast was discussed by Kelly Wagner and Beth Sievers. As to date 275 reservations were made and several people are on standby. Kids are being volunteered to help set up tables and chairs. Decorations are going to include Disney inflatables, a Mickey silhouette for picture back drop, Christmas trees and other decorative trees. And decorations that can be left for the Christmas program are appreciated. Jamie Kinder and Julie  Sievers will be taking photos that will be uploaded to a online account such as Snapfish for parents to order and purchase. Mickey and Minnie will be played by two high school girls that volunteered. Beth Sievers motioned we pay each girl $50 in the form of gift cards to be purchased by Stacy Slifka at First national Bank, seconded by Amy Milcic and Sheri McBride, motion passed. Grades 5-8th to get homework pass for volunteering to work. Mentioned that kids could wear their green shirts that say “thank you for supporting our school” on back. Anyone with extra ears for the kids to wear is asked to donate them. The schedule for volunteering was divided into two shifts so parents could eat & party with their families. Shifts are 7:45-9:30am & 9:30-11am.

Sports were extensively discussed. Kelly Wagner mentioned she felt we had a lot of missing revenue of the concession stands due to the fact we had very few home games. Stacy Slifka stated that the concessions of last year allowed them to get some uniform and equipment needs met along with paying for the referee fees. Kelly mentioned that Bob McBride and Brandon Wagner would volunteer to try to schedule some games, both home and away for next year. It was going to be brought to coaches and parents for a discussion. Kathy Spudich mentioned a coed league. Jamie Kinder voiced concern about parent complaints; games too far, don’t want to have to work concessions, practice and game times. Sheri McBride mentioned the possibility of hosting a tournament. Past failure of such venture was mentioned and subject dropped. Kelly Wagner mentioned trying to get into a league where the kids would play eight or more games. Several people weighed in on the games and scheduling.  The majority suggested it go out to parents for input. Subject brought up about the idea of not having second graders playing with the bigger kids. Coaches had voiced the concern for safety and behavior/ maturity issues. Children were too unruly and disruptive when they were not playing.  The decision to let the third and second grades play was discussed. They were asked to play after parental questioning and because of the number of players being low. It was suggested that parents need to be present during games. The sports banquet was brought up. The coaches receiving the same gift as last year along with having the children make a speech about what the coaches mean to them and/or have taught them was suggested by Michelle Russell, Kelly Wagner and Sheri McBride. Motioned for budgeting gifts by Michelle Russell and seconded by Kelly Wagner, motion passed.

Sheri McBride introduced the idea of an event for the Heart Association. She proposed in the spring we host a community event that could contain: Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart, Ambulance on display, Subway hosting a nutritional eating booth, heart healthy concessions and possibly a Boy Scout stand. The possibility of coordinating with the Women’s Council and making this in place of our field day was also brought up. Sheri McBride brought to vote an allocation of $300 startup money, seconded by Beth Sievers, motion passed. Sheri McBride offered to coordinate the event.

Kelly Wagner stated that she would like to see the kids donate to other causes. Checking with the food pantry to see what items they need was suggested. In lieu of $1 for tango sales, maybe bringing in items for the pantry would work for a day, and then dress down day where they pay to wear jeans was also suggested. Dana Neuhaus coined the name “Casual for a Cause”. Carla approved once a month to dress down.

Kelly Wagner brought up the idea of taking the kids to work a soup kitchen to see what it is like to be a kid who has nothing. Other suggestions were: adopting a family, volunteering at orphanages or crisis centers. We are having Father contact the people in Highland about what we can send to the Guatemalan sister church.

Also having a holiday meal for the underprivileged was brought up, but no definite plans were made.

Kelly Wagner mentioned Octoberfest  Auction item ideas for the classrooms. Unique items were suggested: Spaghetti plate and a dinner hosted at your house, handmade tree skirts, aprons, handmade nativities and blankets.
